Camtasia ( /kæmˈteɪʒə/) (formerly Camtasia Studio) is a software suite, created and published by TechSmith, for creating video tutorials and presentations directly via screencast, or via a direct recording plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint. The screen area to be recorded can be chosen freely, and audio or other multimedia recordings may be recorded at the same time or added separately from any other source and integrated in the Camtasia component of the product. Both versions of Camtasia started as enhanced screen capture programs and have evolved to integrate screen capture and post-processing tools targeted at the educational and information multimedia development marketplace.

Get right to the good stuff with Adobe Spark Video’s trim tool. While in your Spark Video workspace, upload your content and watch as a trimming screen pops up. Trim from either the beginning or end of you video, and press done to insert the clip. With the easy-to-use trimming tool on Adobe Spark Video, you can edit down your clips to just the right length to showcase your star footage. Trim at any point in the editing process, with the freedom to go back and revise your trimming choices.
The app allows you to transfer your projects to Screencast and edit them there. You will need an account for that on top of your Camtasia account. Both platforms provide free trials and subscriptions. Before upgrading, all your content will have a watermark in it. The label is hardly visible, so that won’t be much of an issue if you just want to enjoy the free software. However, if you’re going to attempt to do more professional work, you’ll want to spring for the upgrade and get the watermark removed.
The good thing about Camtasia is that the free version contains every function of the original one. So, you can try all the game-changing features such as the overlapping media. It’s an inherent mechanic that lets you combine multiple clips into one video. Other programs, such as OBS Studio or Filmora Video Editor, can do the same thing, but not as easily as CS.

Now that your video editing is wrapped, select resize to choose a widescreen or square format to best suit the platform you’ll be sharing it on. Always hit the preview button before sharing your masterpiece—it’s easy to make edits if needed! From the app you can share directly to your social platforms, download and save your video, email, embed it, or generate a shareable link.

Overlays of various types may be added, including user-defined settings, such as when and how to display the cursor and pan-and-zoom effects such as the Ken Burns effect. Camtasia for Windows v8 and Camtasia for Mac v2 offer options to enhance sections of the recorded screen to draw attention via a cursor or drawn-in pointer to highlight section(s) of the screen or to better illustrate the actions of the presenter on the screen. Another feature is the ability to save media clips within the library tab, keeping a user from having to repeatedly import commonly-used media clips/files.
